日本の仏教における宗派の一つで良忍上人が開宗しました。総本山は大念仏寺です。開祖良忍上人は、平安の末、1073年2月10日、愛知県の尾張国知多郡の領主の秦道武の子として生まれました12歳で比叡山東塔の常行三昧堂に 入って不断念仏を修め、良仁の名を与えられました。23歳で名を良忍と改め46歳のときに、良忍は1117年（永久5年）に阿弥陀仏の示現を受け、「1人の念仏が万人の念仏に通じる」という自他の念仏が相即融合しあうという立場から融通念仏を創始しました。称名念仏で浄土に生まれると説き、結縁した人々の名を記入する名帳を携えて各地で勧進を行いました。 融通念佛宗は古くから“大念佛宗”又は“融通大念佛宗”と呼ばれ天台宗、真言宗に次いで平安時代後期に成立した古い歴史を持つ宗派で、鎌倉時代になると、浄土宗、浄土真宗、日蓮宗など相次いで成立しましたが、成立順で言えば融通念佛宗は、日本で生まれた仏教の初めての宗派といえるのです。
It is one of the sects in Japanese Buddhism founded by Ryonin Shonin. The head temple is Dainenbutsuji. The founder, Ryonin Shonin, was born on February 10, 1073, at the end of the Heian period, to Hata Dobu, the feudal lord of Chita County in Owari Province in Aichi Prefecture, at the age of 12, at Jogyo Zanmai-do Temple in Hieizan Toto. He went in and practiced nenbutsu and was given the name Ryonin. At the age of 23, he changed his name to Ryonin, and at the age of 46, Ryonin received the manifestation of Amida Buddha in 1117 (Eikyu 5) and founded Yuzu Nenbutsu from the standpoint that nenbutsu of one person leads to nenbutsu of all people. He preached that he would be born in the Pure Land through the invocation of the Buddha's name, and he carried a myocho (name book) in which the names of people with whom he had formed a bond were written, and held fund-raising ceremonies in various places. The Yuzunenbutsushu sect, which has been called the "Dainenbutsushu" or "Yuzunenbutsushu" since ancient times, was founded in the late Heian period after the Tendaishu and the Shingonshu, and in the Kamakura period, the Jodoshu sect, the Jodoshinshu sect and the Nichiren sect were founded one after another, but in order of establishment, the Yuzunenbutsushu sect can be said to be the first sect of Buddhism to be born in Japan.
称名念仏である、融通念仏宗では、毎朝西方に向かって浄土往生を期する念仏（融通念仏）を十唱することを日課とします。

※本尊：十一尊天得如来とは、阿弥陀如来を中心に十体の菩薩がまわりをとりかこんでいる姿で、地獄、餓鬼、畜生、修羅、人間、天上、声聞、縁覚、菩薩、仏の十界が一念に、穏やかに説得すること表したものです。
